Having the scope on a rolling base means quickly being able to get it outside through a sliding door.
Also, by drilling three 1" deep holes in the concrete for the 7/8" all-thread after a good alignment, I find that I can now easily do a one-minute CCD exposure without aligning each night.
The base is made of three rectangular hollow aluminum tubes with two 1/4" plates bolted to the center. I bolted a wheel under each leg of the tripod with a furniture rubber protector screwed into
each leg. Each all-thread leg is drilled for a 1/4" stainless-steel rod to allow easy turning.
It is very sold and won't vibrate while imaging.
